It's been a bit hectic around here for me the last few weeks.  You see, right after I started this site, I lost my job as an IT Administrator in California.  My wife and I were looking into buying a home and even with the recent drop in the housing market (directly responsible for my layoff, by the way)  we would never be able to afford more than a small condo in California.  Our plan was to move out of state, get a place to live, find a job and buy a house.

I recently chronicled my move to Las Vegas, so that was step one.  Step two was completed today as I have accepted a job offer here in Vegas and will be returning to work after four months of not working.  I have also achieved leaving the housing industry behind moving into the hospitality industry, which is apparently a big part of the Vegas economy.  Who knew?

Anyways, I did two drafts with my other account trying to wrap my head around this new format.  The first one i did was another two color ugly draft with a first round loss to someone rated over 1750 and the next draft was a slick, mono-colored white deck where I mis-clicked my way out of round two when I had game two locked up.  The only difference between the two decks was the fact that I felt that no one was in my color for the first pack, yet the two people I played in rounds one and two both had white in their decks.  Odd.

I'll have more drafts coming soon as I will try to get some in over the weekend and dole them out over the next week.  So look for more Shadowmoor w/ Eventide content real soon.

I was kind of hoping they would bring Eventide enabled drafts in quicker than they did for MTGO.  They are officially set to start at 10:00AM on Monday the 18th.  I will get a draft in as soon as I possibly can and have the content up as soon as it is finished.  That might be Monday evening, or it might be Tuesday early in the morning.  Check back often as I'm not sure when I will get the work done.

I got another Shadowmoor draft walkthrough in and I used a couple cards that I had been leaving in the sideboard.  It could be because my deck quality was low, or because I thought they would be good in my deck.  I'm sure someone will let me know. (more...)
